As McTiernan,Paton and Bianchini ALL work for Gibson MSP, how selective was the process of selecting potential Candidates?..It wasn't It was down to Gibson MSP and his chums....We are informed that on or about August 2016 there were only 2 potential candidates both within the wards......Both attended a meeting at the Volunteer rooms in Irvine, There were NO other Candidates.... NONE Our source confirms that he had a feeling of dis-harmony within the group, the Two Councillors Gibson and Gurney didn't appear to want to be in the same room as each other.
As the vetting progressed, one candidate was rejected by KG, the other was left hanging on and to date hasn't had a reply!! But it was inferred that he was a liar by SNP HQ, in that he didn't get an email of rejection.
The SNP secretary McClung attested that KG had circumvented the procedure by by-passing the liaison committee of which she is a member, to insert KG's chums, and it's questionable if that being the case McClung gets on the list of potential candidates. And why not ? She excels at "Brown Nosing" the Gibsons
Our source stated that he received mild abuse from McClung on Facebook which she edited rather sharpish, but what he didn't like was the Convener saying that McTiernan and Paton had been canvassing in Stevenston from September, which is prior to the (potential candidate's)applications being submitted. Common courtesy, would have dictated that at least the potential candidates, would be told Still common courtesy and Gibson are poles apart

3) Local Election Post Mortem – many members considered the selection of candidates to have been an overly complex procedure. The online form had been extremely demanding, and the time-gap between its submission and confirmation of success or rejection far too long. Jxx xxxxxx pointed out that he had on previous occasions been accepted as a candidate, yet he had been rejected on the grounds of “limited campaigning experience”, with no recourse to appeal. It was generally agreed that HQ had made a mistake in drafting in a(the minutes are wrong as correction there were several) Candidate from outwith the local area. It was noted that all three successful candidates in the Saltcoats ward actually live in the town! After the General Election Jean will draft a letter to HQ, itemising the Branch’s concerns, . In the meantime, observations can be sent to her via email.
For goodness sake you don't need to draft a letter, just write the thing,Although one would question the point ,as this area was or so it appears, the only one that this happened, or to quote tell Gibson "to move his arse down and explain himself"
